We try our best to follow the principles in Budo that we practice. The challenges are always there in our Budo practice as we meet various people with different attitude in our journey. May it be people in the dojo, from other dojo or out of the dojo - May test our principle in Budo. Sometimes the situation get the best of us. We may fail, but we should get up and learn from experience. After losing a match, it is normal we feel down and bitter. However, if we think of it as learning experience, it can be easier to overcome. When we lose, we assess ourselves and reflect on it - from there we improve. Ranks like winning a match is also challenge to humility. That is why we should be on guard and conscious to what we feel, because it can manifest through our actions. There is a teaching in the art of war "those who celebrate in the victory of battles are blood thristy", Because the winning comes at a price - the casualties of war. It is in parallel to winning a match. We have to keep in check with our emotions, and treat it with humility. This attitude separates Budo to other sports.
