Shinichi Ikeda Kendo 7th Dan
Born December 17, 1949 in Yoshii Town, Gunma Prefecture (now Takasaki City).
I started kendo in club activities when I was in high school.
I chose Kendo because it was the smallest in my class and Judo was disadvantageous.
Although I was small, I had a high probability of winning the match because I was quick. However, it is not enough to just be strong in the 6th dan promotion, and I realized that I could not pass if I did not have the basics and ideas as a leader, and at the age of 60 I was taught again from the basics by the local teacher Masaki Saito and the game for a while I couldn't win, but I was confident that I passed the 6th dan, but in April 2016, I won the Gunma Prefectural Qualifying for the Nenrin Pick, a national tournament for people over 60 years old, and went to the national tournament. .. In April 2019, I won the general frame and went to the national tournament. At this time, I was blessed with members and entered the best 16.
In the prefectural qualifying round for this general, the only opponent in the final match was Master Saito, who was taught the basics from the age of 60, but the results showed the results of winning one and giving guidance.
Kendo will produce results through steady practice and mental improvement, so I think it's best to aim for your own kendo centered on the basics, regardless of whether you win or lose.
The students of San Carlos seemed to be doing their best under the guidance of Mr. Niki. Kendo is not just for practicing or playing games. It's a way to learn compassion and etiquette through kendo and grow yourself. We hope that students will also learn Kendo, including its spiritual part.
