Kendo during Pandemic

TPE 2204 Kendo

It's is still pandemic after a year and our university Phys. Ed. adapted to Canvas online learning platform. For over a year we have home Kendo practice sessions for beginners. We started with introduction to Kendo, values and principles of Kendo. Then to Kendo basics such as manners, taking up proper stance, how to hold a training sword and footwork. We took up suburi to develop proper movement when striking - coordination of body, footwork and breathing. By the third month we will focus on Kendo training and it's aspect of physical fitness. The aim is to have our students in tertiary to have a meaningful experience in a traditional Japanese martial arts. Also, as a form of exercise to better our mental health and physical fitness during this difficult times.
