Is kote katsujinken?

In my own opinion and what i learned from my sensei. I do not believe kote is Katsujinken. Getting wounded during those older period can be fatal. Antibiotics was not yet invented and there is a good chance those wound will get infected and may cause Sepsis. Although, wound treatment was available during those times, i have to say that it is not as effective to antibiotics in preventing infection.

Not to mention dying from blood loss.
